PATIENT EXAMPLES

The photographs on this page are to help illustrate the features of the aging face discussed on previous pages and to demonstrate how we treat them. The photographs are not meant to demonstrate our best or worst results but to give you an idea of the range of results possible. It is important to realise that your own results will be unique to you and depend on your starting point.

case 1

Before & After

This patient in her early 30s had a number of deep lines developing on her forehead, frown area and around her eyes. She is seen on the right four months following treatment with botulinum toxin. At this stage she had regained full range of movement again in the treated areas although note how the appearance of lines is still vastly improved.

case 2

Before & After

This patient in her early 30s felt she was starting to look tired. Dermal fillers were used to restore volume to her cheeks as well as reduce the appearance of her nasolabial folds and botulinum toxin was used to rejuvenate the upper face. She is seen on the right two weeks following treatment. Notice how she looks less tired, but without necessarily looking 'different'.

Case 3

Before & After

This patient had her lines and wrinkles reduced using botulinum toxin. She also had a more youthful and attractive facial shape sculpted using dermal filler injections. She is seen here two weeks following her treatment.

Case 4

Before & After

This patient presented with many of the more common signs of facial ageing. In the upper face the frown lines were reduced and the eyebrows were lifted using botulinum toxin. The toxin was carried on around the crow's feet area and, importantly, a small amount was also injected in the lower eyelid to smooth the junction between the crow's feet, lower lids and upper cheek. In the lower face dermal filler was used to smooth the nasolabial folds as well as the oral commissures. The jawline was also smoothed by inejcting volume into the pre-jowl sulcus. Finally, some botulinum toxin was injected into the upper lip to reduce the fine lines above the lip as well as provide a subtle volume enhancement. Note how the added volume in the lip looks a lot more natural than would have been the case if dermal filler had been used in this patient.

Case 5

Before & After

This lady underwent a full face treatment package, focusing on volume replacement in the face. She had volume replaced to her cheeks, jawline, nasolabial folds and oral commissures. She also had the upper face rejuvenated using botulinum toxin. Please note that she has naturally very full and attractive lips and it would have been aesthetically wrong to add any more volume to the lips.

Case 6

Before & After

This patient demonstrated many of the typical signs of aging as a result of losing volume from the face. Her cheeks had a flattened and her face had a tired appearance. The cheek area was augmented by injecting a dermal filler deep within the soft tissues to not only create a more attractive appearance but to also provide a lifting effect to the midface. The results of this treatment last 12-18 months.

Case 7

Before & After

This patient in her early 40s underwent a full facial rejuvenation package. The lines in the upper third of her face, on her forehead and particularly around her eyes, were treated with botulinum toxin. Dermal filler was used to smooth the deep lines around her mouth. The lower part of this patient's face was round and made the face look as though it lacked definition. A small amount of filler was injected over the cheek bone area, making the cheeks more defined and creating the illusion of a more slender face. The patient is seen here two weeks after treatment.

Case 8

Before & After

This patient presented with many of the typical signs of aging around the mouth area. She had undergone previous injections of her nasolabial folds (elsewhere) that had resulted in permanent lumping on the left side making the folds asymmetrical. She also had thinning of her upper lip, down turning of the corners of the mouth making her expression look sad, and development of deep lines radiating downwards from the corners of her mouth. We injected some dermal filler into the nasolabial folds, taking care to correct the asymmetry created by the previous injections. We also injected some filler into the upper lip border to create a more effeminate shape to the lip although this patient did not desire much of lip augmentation. She also had her oral commisure lines filled and had the corner of her lip lifted into a more youthful and cheerful expression. The patient is seen here two weeks after treatment.
